Does any one have a home remedy for asthma symptoms?

Started to get sick a couple days ago with a sore throat, runny nose, low grade temp of 100. Now my asthma has flared up. I Am short of breath, tight and wheezy in the lungs and coughing allot, however I'm not coughing any thing up. Got out my Hand held nebulizer and started using it every 4-6 hours. The wheeziness is better however I am still short of breath and just feel terrible all over. Does any one have any suggestions like some home remedy's or something.

How do you know your cat has asthma?

He was coughing a lot and lost almost 3 lbs. When I took him to the vet they said he had an infection in his lungs and gave him antibiotics. Three weeks later they took more xrays and said it had not cleared up much so it must be asthma. Now he is on both an antibiotic and steroids. I have lost confidence in my vet. I feel like they are just guessing. Has anyone had a similar situation? What do you suggest?

How come the nurse wanted to give EKG test for asthma?

I ran out of rescue inhalers and refused an EKG test for asthma, and ask for a prescription for albuteral and they wrote in my record patient refused medical exam and asking for medicine. I have never in my life before been offered an EKG test for asthma. Does that sound unusual, because normally they just listen to my lungs and give me a nebulizer treatment.
No I was going to switch health care providers because I moved, and they scared me away so I guess I wont be going back to that place again.

What can I do to get mucus out of my lungs when I have bronchitis/asthma?

I went to a doctor yesterday that seemed pretty sure I had bronchitis. He prescribed Zithromax (very powerful and supposedly fast-acting) and 20 hours after taking the first pill I'm not feeling any better. I got a total of 6 hours of sleep in the past few days because I keep getting asthma attacks and my lungs are clogged with mucus. I've been coughing every 5 seconds but nothing is breaking up in my chest. I have a very deep rattling noise when I breathe and it gets worse when I lay down. I think my asthma has calmed down a bit after taking doses of albuterol every 4-6 hours. I was wondering if there is something I can do to clear the mucus out of my chest because I won't sleep until I do. Thanks.
