Why do opiates seem to help my asthma?
Author: I know that opiates are supposed to "supress breathing", but I seem to breath a lot better on them. I have fibromyalgia and take percocets for flare ups. When I’m not taking them, my asthma bothers me so much more. I’ve experienced this with all the opiates I’ve taken.
What causes a person to look purple under their eyes?
My 5 year old girl had a fever last night and that went away, but just a little while ago, I noticed that she is purple under her eyes. This is scaring me! I have never seen something like this. Please help!

I saw a doctor for my chest tightness and he said I probably have asthma. I'm young and in good health. I don't wheeze, I don't cough a lot, it is not related to exercise. I just feel like I can't take a deep breath sometimes, and in certain positions, like when lifting something heavy overhead, I feel more constriction. But my real question is, how do I know if asthma is actually causing my problem? The doctor seems unsure, and I don't want to take meds for the rest of my life, just because it's the doc's best guess. Has anyone else had this problem?
