Is it possible to pass on an allergy to penicillin to your child?
I am allergic to penicillin, and my son's doctor recently prescribed Amoxil for his sickness. He does not seem to be responding well, so is it possible that he may have my allergy? (He's running a low fever, spitting up, seems not quite himself, etc.)
This is a second question regarding how effective are sublingual allergy drops for bee stings?
I am considering seeing an allergist for allergy drops for anaphylaxis reactions to bee and hornet stings. But from what I read and hear they are not FDA approved and there is no scientific evidence that they really work. They may work for other allergies though. Has anyone taken these drops for bee stings and how well are they working. I have an epi-pen and benadryl injections at home if I get stung again this year. I want to start some sort of therapy very soon.
Has anyone ever heard of an allergy to sugar that causes really bad skin rash?
I have had this crazy allergy since I has 11 years old. Although it took about 6 years for us to figure out what caused it. I have never heard of anyone that has this same allergy. The rash is not only itchy but very painful sometimes i have it on my legs sometimes on my arms and fingers. And sometimes, to my horror, on my face. It lasts about 4 to 5 days, but the dark spots I get after it drys up take about 3 weeks to go away. The strangest thing, however, is that after I got married and started using birth control it suddenly went away. I’ve been off of birth control for about a year an a half now but the allergy didn’t come back until now … that I’m pregnant. All I want to know is if there is anyone out there that has seen or heard of an allergy like this before and if you have has any doctor ever given any explanations for it. Thanks!
Is it possible to develop an animal allergy?
I’ve had my bunny for about a year, but since I moved into a smaller dorm room, I’ve been sneezing a lot and really congested. Is it possible that I’ve developed an allergy to her that I didn’t have before?
Why is the peanut allergy out of control now?
I’ve noticed that this allergy is way more out of control now than it used to be. Why is this? Medically and Theoretically, it doesn’t matter to me. If it’s theoretical back it up.
Personally I think it’s because people are away more freakish these days about avoiding foods during pregnancy and childhood and beyond that it’s causing our bodies to flip at the slightest trace of anything foreign instead of it being able to build up some sort of immunity.
This particular allergy has just gotten way out of control fast and I wonder why….
