Anyone had tonsilitis or Mono and cured it by creating more regular bowel movements?

Author: The doctor told me there was nothing I could do and now after a year and a half I found naturopathic sites. Fiber pills and salt water gargles appear to be working.
Doctor said nothing could be done.
Pharmacist recommended me echinacia, airborne, vitamin C, salt water gargles, zinc and multivitamins.
I think the naturopathic sights are getting to the root of the problem better than the symptom and medicate doctors.
