Can menstrual cramping be caused by irritable bowel syndrome?
I discovered a few days ago that I mostly likely have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I started this new medicine, and I noticed today that I have menstrual cramps. They feel different, though, like they aren't being caused by my uterus contracting, but maybe by the muscles that are superficial to the uterus, because they also seem to reach farther up. I'm not quite sure what they are. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am 20 years old and I think I have external hemorrhoids. Theres no pain but I want them gone, what can i do? Don't make fun of me but I have looked at my butt hole and when the muscles are tight they go in but when it is relaxed the hemorrhoids show up. They are dark purple and I have seen other pictures so I am sure they are external hemorrhoids. They look like a clot and stuff. What can I do? I want them gone. They are ugly and I don't want them to get bigger. Can I do anything other than surgery to get rid of them?
Why are my bowel movements very inconsistent and spread out very few during the week?
A few more tidbits that will help this scenario. I have recently had a fistula and abcess that was removed from the outer part of my anus. The infection was caused by feces imbedded in my colon and resulted in a very painful surgery and recovery. I rarely make bowel movements *2-3 during a full week normally* and have gone up to 2 weeks without a movement at all. When I do have BM's, they are usually ribbon-like and cause discomfort, afterwhich I feel like I have not passed all of it and usually go to the bathroom multiple times during that day, although I make no progress after the initial movement. The fissure I am guessing, was caused from the 'aftermath' when I make BM's. When I feel like I have not evacuated completely, I sit, and unintentionally strain, *muscles react as if I were vomiting*. Honestly, my diet is atrosious. Fast food, Hot pockets, Pizza, things of that nature are my normal meals. Hope this helps.
What is the link between a potbelly and a inefficient colon?
I've heard that the actual cause of a potbelly is a sagging ,clogged colon. Is this just hype from the emerging colon cleanse market, or is there science to back this up? If the colon has more mass then it should then I guess it could cause the ab muscles to bend outward…anyone have any thoughts on this?
How do you make your bowel muscles function?
I cannot go to the bathroom regularly and I have been to a doctor but they only suggest taking laxatives. Both doctors I have been to said same thing, am I losing hope because I am constantly feeling sick after not being able to go to bathroom up to 1 to 2 weeks at a time. I have tried fiber, vitamin supplements, probiotics, magnesium, healthy diets, i drink a lot of water, plus many more experiments including colon cleanse pills. Nothing seems to be helping and my doctors tell me because it is a problem with the funtion of my bowel muscles, there is nothing to be done about it. Any help? I'm desperate. Thank you!
