Does absence of a bowel movement for a number of days occur after a colonoscopy.?

Author: Prior to a colonoscopy, laxatives are given to completely empty the colon. So, after the procedure, does it sometimes happen that it takes a few days to have a bowel movement?

How many days is safe to do without a bowel movement?
Just wondering as I had my tonsillectomy and Haven't had a bowel movement since Tuesday. It is now early early Sunday morning. I have been eating and have taken 2 mild laxatives yesterday. Thanks
I did go yesterday but I am not going to let it go that long again. I am eating solid foods but in smaller bites. but still I am not eating too much. I think I have lost about 5-7 pounds already, which is okay with me!

What should I eat to have regular bowel movements?
Last Friday I had stomach cramps due to no bowel movement all week. After taking 2 laxatives Saturday evening, the next morning I had a major bowel movement, however, it is now Wednesday and I have had no bowel movement since. What's wrong with my digestive system?

What happens if I cant have a Bowel Movement?
Its been about a mouth now and I haven’t had any good bowel movements.Only some watery diarrhea. I have already tried laxatives and Enema.

How often are we supposed to have bowel movements?
I am 21 and only 105 lbs. flat tummy, and boy can I eat!! lately I have been wondering where all my food goes or what is happening to it when I dont have bowel movements. I know it breaks down and all that stuff, but I go maybe 3-4 times a MONTH. I started taking laxatives about once every other week, and I can tell the difference ( i just feel lighter and refreshed and my skin clears up after too) Has anyone heard of this?
