Why do I need to do a bowel prep for a hysterectomy?

Author: I thought that was very odd on the preparation for surgery instruction sheet. I’m not having bowel surgery, it will be a low bikini incision.
it’s a partial hysterectomy if that info is helpful, and bladder sling surgery.
I never heard of a request like this before. I didn’t have to do this when I had lapband surgery, major gall bladder surgery or my tubes tied. (The lapband surgery IS on your stomach also.)
