This family member has numbness in genitals and buttocks and places on thighs. His herniated disk broke off and interrupted nerve pathways. Had emergency surgery. Still has numbness and can't feel if he has to urinate. Dr. not sure if nerve pathways will return. Dr. says too early to tell if functions will not return, or partial or full recovery. Anyone experience this and have any suggestions to help him recover bladder, bowel, and sexual function?

I've wondered if it's normal to feel like I have to urinate but really have to have a bowel movement. Or also to be urinating and sometimes have the stream stop during a bowel movement and then start up again when finished. Occasionally, I will finish urinating but still feel like I have to go, have a bowel movement, and only after that be able to fully empty my bladder. Is there something wrong or is this common?

my daughter had an adhesion removed that was connecting her bowel and bladder. she has never had surgery before, nor was she born with it . what would you think caused it ? i have my suspicions, but i want to see if anyone else would know .
