What is a good supplement to take to increase bowel movements?

I don't have the time to go thru a detox program, but I would like to take something that will increase my bowel movements. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't drink coffee. What about dandelion supplements?

Dandelion root helps increase bile production (natural laxative) and helps some people. Other things that work a bit more reliably: yellow dock (Rumex crispus), black walnut (Juglans nigra) and anything bitter. Bitter foods including rocket, endive, grapefruit.

Lemon juice (up to half a lemon) in hot water, first thing in the morning can really get things moving.

Psyllium husks - 1 teaspoon in a glass of water or juice, followed by another glass of fluid before going to bed.

The lemon juice and psyllium will also help detox gently.

Nothing works better than cascara sagrada, senna, or large doses of Magnesium (not Milk of Magnesia–normal Magnesium).

Isabgol and triphala are the best laxatives and regulators of bowel movements. You can try these since there are no side effects. Just beware, isabgol and triphala are medicines to be used in constipated conditions. You have not mentioned anything about constipation, so I must warn you that you take them only if you have constipation.

Eat fibrous fruits like bananas which help you in regularising your bowel movements. Drink lots of water.

Psylium husks, eating food with fiber (apples, bran cerial, granola, popcorn, etc), drinking more liquids especially water, etc.

If none of this helps and you continue to have problems, ask your doctor check your hormone level because the pituitary gland at the base of the brain release six different hormones over your lifespan. and some of those hormones are precursors that help the rest of the endocrine system function properly.

just eat more food containing fibre.

Well.. the best way to really get rid of toxins in the bowel and colon are through an enema. It cleans you out good and will even put water back into your body.

Read the directions on the kit…

Ground flaxseed is full of fiber and can promote bowel movement. You can eat it mixed with food or take it in capsule form.
