Constipation for years problems with bowel movements for a girl, is this a problem?
I'm a female in the early 20's who has had constant bowel problems my entire life, I do not have bowel movments every week, maybe about once every 5-7 days on average. is this ok? i do drink enough fluids & eat a healthy balanced diet. I am wondering if this is a major problem? What kind of doctor should i see if it is a problem? thank you.

Try taking a fiber supplement if that doesn't work go to a gastrointerologist (sorry i can't spell it) but they concentrate on your entire gi tract and can help you. It is possible that you could have irratible bowel syndrome. Hope that helps!!
Another tip: I ate dried fruit and that definately sped up everything..
every one is different as far as how often they have a BM but if you are having a hard time with it, try taking a fiber supplement, that will help the process
Try this for a few weeks and see what happens. Go out an buy some dried prunes and eat two per day . See what happens.
