I need to do a bowel cleasing for my colonscopy..what is the best way?

I have a colonoscopy coming up and have found several possible ways to complete the bowel cleasning. I found serveral products from a brand called Fleet. One is an at home disposible enema. Has anyone tried it or does anyone have any information about its effectiveness? I also found a product called phospho soda that you drink. Any comments about this?

Your doctor will tell you exactly what he wants you to use and it is important that you follow his instructions exactly.

your doc should have gave you prescriptions for the stuff youd be using, my mom had one done in january, they gave her the fleets phospo soda, and the enema, they both work, i hope everything goes well for you, i will pray for you,

At our hospital we put the patient on a liquid diet the day before, and then give them 45 ml of Fleet's Phospho soda the night before and at 6 am the morning of the test. Also, nothing but water by mouth after the first FPS!

If you are scheduled for a colonoscopy, the doctor doing it should have given you written instructions as to what to use. I am scheduled for one (my first) on May 31 and the doctor's office gave me explicit instructions–buy 2 bottles of Fleets phosposoda, exactly when to drink them and with what, how much and what fluids to drink when, etc. If they didn't give you this information, you must ask for it so you are prepared. I believe the doctor mentioned that they also give an enema after you get the anesthesia, but an enema alone definitely is not enough preparation for the test–you must have a really clean bowel so they can get a clear picture of what's going on in there. Hope this gives you some direction.

by taking 1 full bottle of X Prep (syrup of senosides A and B) or an enema at home the night before the test at midnight.
If you cannot do any of tose, apply 3 little tubes of microlax with 1 hour of difference between each otherm retain them as much as you can,,,and then evacuate, until your stools looks clear as plain mucus…
GOOD LUCK::::: (you will be sedated, dont worry)..

Definitely ask your doctor about this, for different GI centers have slightly different instructions.

FYI, I had to drink 3 bottles of magnesium citrate soda.

    Yuck!
