What are some at home remedies to increase bowel movements?
Over the past couple of weeks I have barely been able to go, This is a serious question, I have searched the web. I can't find anything. I don't have insurance so I can't go to my doctor. I have been going once every 7 days. I am taking fiber pills, but they don't seem to be helping. Any ideas? I've been under a lot of stress lately, they say that can make you constipated, but I don't even feel like I need to go. I need advise.

prunes, coffee, spinach and other roughage
Prunes are supposed to help. Also, increase your fluid intake, as well as exercise such as walking.
What are you eating in your diet? Sugars and fats will clog you up, so reduce the intake of this.
You need to start eating lots more greens, like broccoli, spinich, cabbage, green beans, beans of any sort, etc. Fiber pills only help if you drink a lot of water and eathing the right diet as well.
In my clients they ask me the same question and it's because they eat so much sugar and take out that it causes back up/colon congestion.
Another way to try is do a colon detox, you can buy this at any grocer and be sure it's a colon detox, if your colon is congested you can use the pills they provide (in the detox) to help break down the waste in your colon. This will increase and make the flow easier and give you more gassy feelins to go. Be sure to follow a healthy diet when you do this. Lots of natural fruits and greens. If you're like some of my clients who hates veggies, start using HOT sauce on everything. It helps to get the motions going 24 hours after.
Fiber pills are meant to be a supplement to prevent constipation, so it's not going to be that curative. You need to actually include more fiber in your diet as well, besides the supplement pill. The previous answerer had some good ideas. Also sugar free candy seems to do it. My friend was quitting smoking and ate a lot of sugar free candy to keep herself from smoking… it resulted in diarrhea.
If you don't even feel like you need to go, it's possible that your diet is to blame. It's normal to go 3 days or so without a movement, some people go longer. I agree that a week is a bit much but if you have a very particular diet (either you're ON a diet or you are a picky eater and usually eat the same types of things every day, like I do) it can affect how often you go.
Taking fiber is definitely the way to go. You can use over-the-counter laxatives but you do NOT want to use them frequently. Other tried-and-true ways of doing it are eating prunes and yogurt in the morning. I just found this website that has a good categorization of 'types,' so you don't have to go into gory detail here
