Why might I be having so many bowel movements so frequently?
For the past 2 or 3 weeks I've been having bowel movements at least 4 times a day. I usually only go once or twice a day. But it seems like I'm not even digesting everything necessary out of my foods because it seems like every time I have a regular sized meal, shortly after, it comes out. I also seem to be hungry more often now.
I believe this may be a case where my body isn't properly using everything in my food when digesting? But I don't really know anything about that.
I'm 20 years old. My diet has been the same as always. Indulgences here and there, but overall normal and healthy.
The only thing I can possibly think of that's different is that I've been dealing with a ridiculously rough break up the past 3 weeks, but I've never had stress affect me this way. Although it has been a very, very, very bad 3 weeks in that emotional sphere, so I don't know.
Ideas?

Give yourself a little more time. It sounds like stress to me. Stress can interfere with your bodily functions….you may lose weight…you may have trouble sleeping. But if your situation continues after a time, go see your doctor.

Has your diet had a lot of fiber/potassium in it?
Also you'd be surprised what kinds of quirks your body can develop towards stress. I for one twitch.
