Is Childbirth Classes on Dvd as helpful and effective as going in person?

I’m 29 weeks pregnant with my first child and have no idea what to expect when it comes time for labor. Me and my partner were wanting to attend childbirth classes but because of the recent hurricane all are closed or full. Would watching a childbirth class on dvd help any?

How long after childbirth can you get pregnant again?

I had my daughter in January and bled for 3 1/2 weeks. About 4-5 weeks after childbirth my husband and I started having sex again. About a week ago I started to experience pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, dizziness, nausea, weight gain and heightened sense of smell). I am breastfeeding (but supplementing with formula) but I got my period two days ago. I am still experiencing the symptoms. I talked to my mother who told me that about 2 months after she had my brother she was experiencing a lot of bleeding and pregnancy symptoms. She went to her doctor who performed a pregnancy test, which was positive. They did and ultrasound and confirmed that she was pregnant. Could I have gotten myself pregnant again?

What part of childbirth is more painful?

I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my first and I'm just wondering, what is the most painful part about childbirth? Is it the active labor? The baby coming out, etc? Thanks to anyone who can help!

How do I “get over” a fear of childbirth?

My husband and I have always wanted children, but I have an absolute fear and terror of childbirth. We have even considered adoption because of my unrealistic phobia. I know that in part I've "brainwashed" myself into this fear, because since childhood I've always told myself that I'd never have my own child. What steps can I take to help resolve this fear? Has anyone else conquered a fear like this?
It's everything from conception to delivery, from sights to smells to sounds and sensations… it terrifies me. When other people have children, I am happy for them… it's just when the situation could involve me, thats when I cringe. My husband is very understanding, and supportive of any decision I make, wether to adopt or have my own. I'm a very lucky woman to have him. I'd like to also state that I have educated myself on the topic to a fault… which may have made it worse.
