How can I find out the source of an allergy?

I have never been allergic to anything ever but loaded with hives - I think they are - (raised itchy welts flesh pink colored) that isn't responding to typical itch creams or calamine. Do doctors test for certain things on my arm or something? Has anyone developed a new allergy later in life from something they never reacted to before? What was the source?

How do I tell a prospective employer about an allergy?

I have a deadly peanut allergy. I recently had a full-blown reaction because someone near me was eating peanut butter. I’m currently looking for a new job. Does anyone have any experince telling employers that they need to be in an allergen-free environment? Should I mention it in the interview?

Thanks!

Are there any safe and effective natural alternatives to allergy medications?

My wife suffers from asthma which seems to be triggered mostly by allergies like dust, animals, ragweed, pollen etc. She is currently taking Loratadine (an antihistamine) which helps to keep her allergies/asthma in control. The problem- I don’t trust chemicals. I don’t think they’re safe. (sorry Big Pharma). So my question is, are there any safe and effective natural alternatives to allergy medications such as Loratadine?

Can a pet allergy cause your nose to plug, give you a sore throat and a bad cough?

I recently adopted a puppy. I felt fine for about a week an a half, but 2 days ago I began to sneeze alot. My nose plugged and I had to blow almost constantly. I also came down with a sore throat and a bad cough. Is this a result of a pet allergy or did I just come down with a cold? I've been around dogs all my life and I don't ever recall reacting like this before.
