What can I do to get rid of the dry skin patches on my face?

I recently moved to Georgia from a tropical climate and I have dry skin patches on my face and I do not know what else I can do to get rid of them…

I wash my face twice a day with a mild, but deep cleanser, use an oil-free SPF moisturizer during the day and a slightly heavier face lotion at night. I exfoliate once a week with a very fine face scrub and also use a Dead Sea facial peel about every 10 days to prevent breakouts (yes, it works).

But this last week I have noticed some dry, flaky skin on my face and I cant seem to get rid of it. My skin doesnt seem dry in these patches, but the flaky skin is obvious.

Does any one have any ideas about how I might get rid of this? Im at a loss as I have never lived in a winter climate before and never had a problem with dry skin.

Thanks…

I have one idea for you: In the shower, rub some Head and Shoulders shampoo on the dry spots. My dermatologist suggested this; she said it was like dandruff but on my face instead of my scalp. It did the trick, and it hasn't come back, actually.
