Best friend in wheelchair after childbirth. What could I bring her that would help?
My best friend had complications with childbirth and is now in a wheelchair recovering. She's not able to use her thigh muscles and stand on her own yet, but is slowly getting better with physical therapy. It is hard for her because her husband has to do everything for the baby (except breastfeed , of course). I'm flying out to visit her and her new family next week and would like to bring her something that may help her cheer up. Any ideas?

Just go out, and help her find ways to take care of the baby herself more, like a table she can fit the wheelchair under and a safe place to change the baby, maybe a tabletop bath tub, changing and dressing area, stuff like that. I assume her arms work fine. Maybe some temporary re-arranging of the baby stuff to have it in a place where she can do more of it at a table. By enabling her to be more involved in her baby's care you should be cheering her up and helping her bond with the baby. With you there to help out and do the legwork I would think that would be a great encouragement.
