How soon in pregnancy should nipples start leaking clear liquid?
Author: I am 14 weeks along. My breasts are sore. I massage them for comfort. A few days ago, when I was doing so, a clear liquid began seeping from 4 or 5 what seemed like holes in my nipple. And any time I squeeze my breast it continues. I have yet to have an ultrasound. My doctor won't do one before 18 weeks. Is it possible that I'm further along than she thinks or is this common in early pregnancy?
Some women do have colostrum very early. Some women never leak colostrum but can still breastfeed just fine. Many women begin leaking colostrum in the third trimester. Anything is normal.
Get some breast pads to wear in your bra to help protect your clothes.
